Call of Duty: Mobile Season 9 – CONQUEST

Season 9

When I first heard about all the massive changes coming in Season 9, I knew that the initial launch would not be a smooth rollout and I was proven right when they delayed the new season for the millionth time. Developers said they wanted more time to iron out the bugs and make it perfect and I, honestly, think it was for the best.

I’d rather have a late masterpiece than an early disaster and what a masterpiece it was. I’ve spent hours tinkering around in the new Gunsmith and testing out my new builds before I put my phone down to write this article and tell you all about it because they weren’t kidding around when they said this will change the game forever.

I feel absolutely spoilt for choice and I’m eager to grind and get all my weapons leveled up and fully customized because the options truly are endless and nobody should have the same exact weapon (at least until we discover the meta and everybody follows the trend).

So let’s take a look at all the big changes in Call of Duty: Mobile Season 9 – CONQUEST

The Gunsmith

The original Gunsmith from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare revolutionized the idea of gun customization and gave players a chance to create a unique set of weapons that they could proudly call their own. Imagine my excitement when I found out that this amazing feature would be making it’s way to mobile as well.

There will now be more than 50 attachments to choose from with each having its own set of unique advantages and disadvantages as well. All of this will be available for Multiplayer and Battle Royale as well, so let’s take a look at what’s in store with this epic new update.

  • Every weapon in the game can now have up to 9 attachment slots to choose from instead of the usual 4. There are 50+ attachments to choose from, like laser sights, grips and scopes, and gun perks as well.

  • Earn each attachment by leveling up your gun by using it in battle or through XP cards.

  • No longer will you need to level up each version of the gun that you have. So, if you have a level 12 AK117, that will now be the level of the base AK117 and all the skins will be applied as either Camos or Blueprints.

  • Uncommon weapons (White) and Rare weapons (Green) are now classified as “Camo” and can be applied to the base gun.

  • Epic Weapons (Purple) and Legendary Weapons (Orange) are now classified as “Blueprints“. They are special variants of the base weapons and come with unique cosmetic upgrades and pre-loaded attachments. If you already have the Blueprint unlocked, you do not need to level up your gun to unlock these attachments.

  • Add a more personal touch to your guns with charms, stickers, and various reticles for when you ADS. There are also more camos to unlock through grinding and leveling up.

  • Save your newly designed weapon and add it to your loadout before your next match.

Battle Royale

Now You may be asking your self, “I mostly play Battle Royale. The Gunsmith is no good because we can only use the customized guns in Multiplayer”. That’s the best part. All the weapons that you spend time crafting in Gunsmith can be accessed after you parachute down to the map.

But that’s not the only good news this season. There are a ton of new changes coming to the Battle Royale scene so here’s all you need o know about the new and improved Battle Royale mode.

New Airdrop

Borrowing the idea from Call of Duty: Warzone, all the weapons that you tinker with in Gunsmith can be found in the Airdrop that we all know and love. Up to four players can collect their unique weapon from the airdrop and each player can only select one unique loadout from each Airdrop.

New Areas

The Battle Royale map has now expanded to include 4 new areas for players to explore. They are Radar Base, Dormitory, Outpost, and Camp.

New Ground Weapons

Instead of finding a gun and then finding attachments for it, weapons that you find on the ground will now have attachments pre-equipped. All rarities have been included as well and so the rarer the weapon is, the more attachments will be equipped when you find it. Attachments can not be removed or swapped to other weapons.

New Weapon Mods

The only attachments that can be found on the ground now are Gun Mods that work kind of like the Perks that you find within Gunsmith. Mods can be swapped between weapons without a problem.

New Ground Items

Armor plate: Use armor plates to repair your vest if it gets damaged. One plate recovers 50% of your armor’s durability.

Ammo is also now matched to your weapon class.

The Battle Pass

Continuing with the trend they started in Season 8, the all-new Battle Pass is jam-packed with unlockable extras for players to earn as the days go by. I’ve honestly never been this excited to spend money on a game and, just as I predicted, it’s going to keep e coming back for many seasons to come.

I’ve already counted 7 new soldier skins to unlock for myself and 4 of them are in the Battle Pass already so there’s never been a better time to get the pass and start raking in all those sweet sweet cosmetic rewards. Here’s a look at what you can expect.

Free Battle Pass Rewards

  • New Marksman Rifle
    • Kilo Bolt-Action

  • New Scorestreak
    • Shield Turret

Premium Battle Pass Rewards

  • New Epic Soldiers
    • Victor Reznov

    • Kilo Bolt-Action – Lazarus
    • Striker – Aeronaut

    • Take Cover

Last but not least, we need to mention a few of the new changes coming to Multiplayer. We have been begging for Shipment to make its grand return and it came back spectacularly with a new 1944 Aesthetic. Not to mention a classic new game mode for us to sink our teeth into.

  • New Map
    • Shipment 1944: – This Call of Duty classic is going to be available Team Deathmatch, Domination, Free-For-All, Hardpoint, Gunfight, Ultra Rapid Fire, 1v1, Kill Confirmed, Team Deathmatch 10v10.

  • New Featured Game Mode
    • 10v10 mode: This new game mode for Season 9 can be played on Shipment, Takeoff, Meltdown, and Crossfire and is available in Team Deathmatch and Domination.

My Plans For The Season

Since the start of Season 7, I’ve been using hybrid controllers when I play Call of Duty: Mobile and just before Season 8 ended, I managed to get my hands on a PlayStation’s DualShock 4 (DS4) controller and I’ve been enjoying the experience so much that I plan on using a mobile gaming controller for the entirety of my climb back up to Legendary Rank.

Unfortunately, I discovered very quickly that the DS4 is not the ideal controller for an Android device and, eventually, I traded it in to go with the Xbox One controller and it has revolutionized the way I enjoy Call of Duty: Mobile. So much so that I may just give more attention to Multiplayer this time as well.

Do you play Call of Duty: Mobile? What are your thoughts on the new additions to the game? Let me know in the comments section below.
